There are some cool women’s specific cycling kit emerging. Gone is the day when all women’s kits were ill-fitting, boring, and pink or purple.
It was almost insulting to go shopping for bike kits as a woman! Flowers, butterflies, hearts and cute stuff, mostly purple, pink and red (whom in the world would wear that?!). I had the feeling that women's clothing were design by men for women: the kind of concept that usually doesnt go far. I always ended up buying men's kits because I wanted to look more ''pro'': AKA not stupid.
Certain companies could feel our pain, ladies!
According to 2016's trend:
-Your jersey has to be adjusted and ''aero'' fit;
-A black, high quality, short cut bib;
-Optimal Sock Height all the way and make sure it matches your whole kit and your bike: ALWAYS!!!! ;
Assos SS. 13 Lady
The only problem with Assos is the price! It is possible to get something similar from other brands for alot cheaper. I do not think the price is worth the jersey... well maybe! the actual question is ''Do I really need this?''.
Keep in mind that Assos is really small. Make sure you check the size chart before you order.
Garneau Course edition
My Favorite so far! I am about to order more. Garneau really understood what women wanted and I would recommend this to any women.
I'd say give it a try and see if its worth the money. You could always order a kit on ebay if you know your size. Rapha is well know for being ''la crème de la crème'' or the ''Louis Vuitton'' kind of product. You don't really know if you pay too much for the brand and nobody figured out yet. one thing for sure: its good stuff and everybody wants it!
